A tow truck driver robs a woman and then causes an accident that leaves a dangerous chemical spill on the highway. Ponch inhales some of the stuff and starts acting drunk. Jon pulls him over and sends him to the hospital.
Ponch hates it there and tries to escape but can't because his clothes are in a locker that he can't get open.

When released from the hospital, he teams up with Jon again. While chit-chatting about sun, lollipops and rainbows, Ponch's windshield gets bird droppings on it and they pull over at a gas station to wash it off. When they hear a man calling for help, they check it out and realise the place has been held up.

Jon sees the guy who just robbed the place and goes after him. The guy crashes and falls out of his jeep hurt. Jon stays with him until medical help arrives.

Back on the highway Jon and Ponch pull over a Volkswagen bus with a man and his bird. While goofing around with the bird Jon spots the tow truck driver across the highway and they go after him.
Ponch's uniform gets dirty while he arrests the man.
