A man and woman are
working as a team to rob homes of people who are away. The
woman drives through the neighbour hoods right off the freeway
and when she sees a home with lots of papers, she alerts her
partner who stops along the freeway and flags his van as broken
down and then he goes into the house through the back and
takes what he wants. Ponch and Jon see a hearse pass them
and the back door flies open and a coffin slides out and the
hearse keeps going. People on the street are surprised that
the hearse didn't stop. Jon and Ponch follow the hearse and
call Bear to go check out the coffin. They all 3 know that
it is a frat prank but the people on the street don’t.
Bear gets there and knocks on the lid and finally the boy
inside opens the lid. When Jon and Ponch finally get the hearse
to stop, the boys inside are drinking and they arrest them
and tell them that this is a stupid prank to be pulling on
the street and that they are under arrest for drinking also.
While on patrol, Jon and Ponch see a car going the wrong way
down a one way street and they pull it over. It turns out
that the driver is the principal of the high school, Lehigh
Polytechnical High School, that Ponch attended. The principal
call Ponch by his full name and Jon cracks up when he finds
out what Ponch’s middle name is, Llewellyn. After Ponch
gives the principal the ticket he tells him how proud he is
of how he has turned his life around. Later in the day, Getraer
calls Ponch and tells him he is wanted in the Principal’s
office. He is so nervous when he gets to the school that he
forgets to put his kick stand down and his bike falls over.
When he gets to the principal’s office he finds out
that all he wanted was for Ponch to speak on Career Day to
show the kids what you can make of your life. Ponch’s
motorcycle is brought back to the station for repairs as when
it fell over he broke the spark plug and the carburettor was
leaking. The Sarge sees the bike and tells Ponch there are
no more available motors and he isn't using his. He goes to
put him on desk duty but the helicopter officer comes in and
asks Getraer for an observer that can ride with him. Ponch
offers and Getraer gives in. While in the helicopter, a call
comes in for a missing boy. Ponch helps Jon locate the boy
and gives him a ride back to his mother in the helicopter.
While still on patrol in the helicopter, Ponch spots a van
on the side of the road that could possibly be the people
who are robbing houses. He alerts Jon and the people see the
helicopter and take off. Jon and Ponch chase them down and
finally capture them. When Ponch goes to give his speech,
he tells Jon he is going to tell about some of the wild things
they have done but Jon suggested some of the calmer things
that had happened like finding the little boy. Ponch goes
one stage and when he looks out at all the people he freezes.
Jon finally goes up there and tells the crowd about some things
that Ponch has done and when he hears the applause the loosens
up and starts talking and doesn't stop. Everyone in the ends
starts to fall asleep on him.
