As Ponch slows the traffic, Jon guides the man to safety by cutting the rope on the windsurf board.
After the man is put into a cruiser and taken off Jon spots the young girls again, he goes up to them and tells them: "you've been pretty lucky today twice now don't push it."

At Central a photographer is taking snaps of Getraer for the CHP magazine, Getraer is trying to keep a cool head and poses to the amusement of Jon and Ponch.

Back on patrol Jon and Ponch go to help at the removal of a caravan, to which the owner is sitting tight, he wont vacate until his daughter promises to let him stay in his room when it is relocated, and that his beloved huge dog Leroy can stay to, after a lot of talking and pleading they agree, and the man comes out.

Going later down the freeway a car swerves in front of a van, the van breaks hard, but then his breaks fail, he is blowing his horn all the time warning others that he has no breaks, Jon and Ponch hear him and give chase. To slow the truck Jon calls Baricza to help, Baricza cruises in front of the truck to allow in to hit the bumper and then Baricza breaks hard, bringing the truck to a halt, just in time before they hit road works.

Meanwhile the hitch hikers (Marge and Jenny) are back on the road, just as they are getting into the van Jenny changes her mind and Marge gets in alone, the men in the van frighten marge and will not let her out, Jenny alerts Jon and Ponch and they go after the van, quick thinking Marge turns the ignition off, then the van stops, the men are arrested.

*Why was Getraer wearing his helmet when he was in the cruiser ?

* When Jon and Ponch chased the wind surfer the hitch hiker were far behind, suddenly they were hitch hiking very close.
