20. Rainy Day - 2 March 1978.

Cruising down the highway it is raining, and Ponch is convinced that it is not going to last long. It does so they take shelter under a bridge.

On the highway a motorcycle with 2 people on pull over a car, saying that there is something wrong with her tyre, as the woman gets out to investigate, the other cyclist drives off in her car.

Meanwhile under the bridge where Jon and Ponch are, a car looses control and swerves into a bus, the car catches fire and the woman in the bus is trapped, Jon manages to put out the fire, Ponch gets out the lady, the lady is a teacher and Ponch invites her along to visit central with her class, she accepts.

Back at Central as it is raining hard Getraer puts Jon and Ponch in a cruiser, a new cruiser, while playing with the buttons Ponch opens the bonnet, and then has to get out to shut it in the rain, much to Jon's amusement.

Jon and Ponch cruise the highway in the cruiser (more like a scene from TJ Hooker than chips), they find a gamble camper van, where people inside the van are gambling, one of the men is thrown out of the van, Jon and Ponch find him dazed on the freeway and take him to the hospital, the man is ok just suffering from concussion.

Later down the highway Jon and Ponch stop a man driving his car while his head is out of the window, and using an umbrella, when they pull him up, Jon notices that his car has many guns inside, Jon and Ponch make the arrest.

Meanwhile the motorcycle men steal another car, leaving the poor woman stranded on the freeway. Jon and Ponch see and chase them during the chace they are careful not to scratch the new cruiser, and Ponch wishes that he was back on his bike. They catch the men, and arrest them.

Later at Central the teacher arrives with her class to the amusement of Getraer.

Back on patrol Jon and Ponch chase the gambling camper van, and during the chase the cruiser gets dented, back at Central Jon and Ponch are flipping a coin to see who is going to tell Getraer, but as they are about to Grossie parks his cruiser not to carefully hitting the new cruiser, thus saving Jon and Ponch's skin, as the music plays out.
