Ponch and Jon are on their way to work when they join in a
car chase that ends in a crash in a chemical plant. There
are 3 trucks there loaded with chlorine gas and they have
to get their load off but can’t unload there because
of a fire caused when the car Jon & Ponch were chasing
exploded. The load is going to have to be moved to another
location and it will be dangerous as the tanks have to be
kept cool or the gas inside will explode. Jon, Ponch and a
cruiser are sent as escorts for the convoy of trucks. Several
obstacles get in there way (a wreck, a loose tiger, town not
wanting to let them pass through and a bunch of rocks in the
middle of the road). When they stop to move the rocks, the
truck driven by the daughter of the owner of the 3 trucks
has a falling rock hit the valve on her trailer and some of
the gas escapes and she breathes it in and passes out. Some
campers come along and tell Ponch where there camp is so he
can go get her some oxygen. While he is gone, Jon uses the
cruiser to move one really big rock. When Ponch returns the
cruiser leaves with the owners daughter and Jon drives one
of the trucks. He goes over a bump and the fifth wheel comes
apart. After some fancy driving on Jon’s part and some
good work on Ponch’s part, they get the truck hooked
back up and they get the load delivered safely.
