29. High Flyer

Jon and Ponch are on cruising, while the CHP helicopter flies overhead.

On the freeway a young woman has broken down, 3 men stop to help her, they advise that she call for a tow truck, in doing this the 3 men then strip her car of its engine..

The woman flag's down Jon and Ponch who then go in pursuit, but they loose them.

At Jon's apartment Jon is fixing Ponch's car, with the help of 15 year old Kim his neighbours daughter (who has a big crush on Jon).

At Central it is Ponch's turn to go up in the helicopter, Ponch fakes a cold so he can stay on patrol, Grossie goes in his place.

Back on patrol Jon and Ponch go in pursuit again of the car strippers, this time the strippers open up the back of the van to throw out tyres, Ponch falls off his bike into garbage.

During the night an upset Kim turns up at Jon's apartment having run away from home.

Next day at Central Ponch again avoids his turn in the helicopter by faking a hearing problem, then he learns that the helicopter is that day grounded.

The car strippers strike again, and Jon and Ponch this time catch them up just as they are leaving and give chase, this time the strippers car crashes and catches fire.

Later Jon and Ponch go to Jon's apartment to find Kim there waiting, she has ran away again, so Jon and Ponch go to Kim's mums flat and Jon tells her to trust him and he tells her that he will talk to Kim.

At Central Ponch asks for Sindy's help with the Jon/Kim problem, so she agrees to pretend to be Jon's girlfriend, this works and Jon makes it clear to Kim where she stands they are friends, and then Kim phones her mum to arrange to go home.

Back at Central it is Ponch's time to go in the helicopter, and this time there is no excuses.
