THE SHEIK

Jon’s day starts off bad with him losing his temper which isn’t normal for him. Ponch admits it is normally him but that he is going to make this a great day and not lose his temper. Jon laughs and Ponch says that he will give Jon a dollar for every time he loses his temper. Jon agrees to a quarter instead because Ponch can’t afford that much money.

As Ponch and Jon are driving along they see a sports card speeding. They try to pull him over but he doesn't stop for a long time. The man says he is in a hurry and was running late. Ponch asks the man to get out of the car and he finally does. Ponch tries to get him to move to the curve. When he refuses, Ponch put his hand on the mans arm and the man slaps him. Jon and Ponch finally get handcuffs on the guy. He then claims to have diplomatic immunity. Finally Sindy gets there and takes the man into Central. Ponch and Jon look at each other and exchange quarters because they lost their tempers.

When they get to the station, Joe informs them that the man is a sheik and does have diplomatic immunity and they will have to just write the ticket off as a loss. State Department wants any charges dropped.

Back out on the highway, Ponch and Jon come upon an accident that was caused by a man dumping nails off the back of his truck. One of the people involved in the accident is a pregnant woman. She has the baby in the back of the ambulance before it can leave the scene.

The sheik goes speeding by the accident and Jon and Ponch chase him down again. He asks if they are going to arrest him again. They just ask him for his license and registration. He says he doesn't have to have a license but gives them the registration. It expire a year ago so they impound the car.

When they check their mailboxes at the office, they find invitations to spend the day with the Sheik on his yacht. Ponch at first refuses until he gets a call from the cousin of the Sheik, which they met when they arrested the Sheik the first time. They enjoy riding jet skis but aren't that impressed by the caviar and champaign. Ponch says they would rather have beers. The Sheik asks to see Jon and Ponch alone and offer them money. They are insulted that they are being offered a bribe. They decide to leave the boat but just about that time, Jon sees a man driving a boat very recklessly. He hits another boat and knocks himself out. The boat heads toward the yacht. Jon and Ponch get back on the jet skis and jump in the boat from them. Jon get the man out of the boat and Ponch turns the boat just before it hits the yacht. Ponch jumps out and then the boat blows up. Everyone on the yacht cheer them.

Jon and Ponch have to take the Sheik out with them in a cruiser. They explain to him the dangers of driving so recklessly like he had been doing. They get a call to a very bad accident and the Sheik finally realises how much danger he was putting people in before.

At briefing, Joe reminds everyone that as police officers that they cannot accept gifts. Sindy tells Jon and Ponch that was for them. When they walk out in the parking lot there are two new cars there as gifts to Ponch and Jon. They have to return them. The Sheik says he will never speed anymore.

At the end of the show, the Sheik’s sports car comes speeding by them again. Ponch tells Jon he is really mad because the Sheik went back on his word. When the car pulls over, almost immediately, the Sheik’s cousin gets out of the car. She had been speeding all over town trying to find Ponch because she was getting ready to leave town and wanted to say goodbye. After she drives away, Jon asks for his quarter because Ponch had gotten mad.
