Driving down an empty highway a tired Bonnie is talking on her C.B to Blabbermouth, a young boy with a stammer called Cory, Bonnie sees a truck in front of her, she swerves to avoid crashing into it. Blabbermouth who saw the accident alerts his mum who calls the police. Jon and Ponch go down the highway looking for Bonnies cruiser they find it wrecked and Bonnie is unconscious, Jon gets her out.

At Central Jon and Ponch look for Getraer to go to visit Bonnie at the hospital, Grossie is working on a new topic for the CHP magazine, fatigue amongst drivers.

At the hospital Blabbermouth turns up with his mum to bring flowers, Ponch tells him that Bonnie will be ok and it is a good job that she didn't hit the truck, this is a surprise to Blabbermouth as there was no truck.

Next day Jon and Ponch go to visit the truck firm Trans Allied, to ask them questions and to talk to the driver, the man said that he never saw the cruiser, and drove past after the mess had been cleaned up.

Back to Central and Grossie and Getraer question Bonnie, who still says there was a truck, she sees flashbacks and sees the truck. Blabbermouth comes to Central and tells Jon and Ponch that there was no truck, he then goes in and tells Bonnie, who then has a flashback with her driving straight through the truck, she was overtired.

When Bonnie crashes the flashing lights are under the car, but when Jon and Ponch arrive the first thing they see are the flashing lights on top of the car.
